Convention of Kloster-Zeven, 8 September 1757

Treaty signed by the duke of Cumberland, after his army sent to Hanover had been defeated by the French at Hastenbeck (Seven Years War). The treaty allowed the French to occupy Hanover, and the duke of Cumberland was received with fury on his return to England. The treaty was repudiated, and Cumberland was forced to resign from all of his military posts.
